Family Meatballs

Family Meatballs




Ingredients:

1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
1/4 cup milk
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup finely cut green or red bell pepper
1 tablespoon ketchup
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
vegetable oils, bacon drippings, or shortening
1/2 cup beef broth

Preparation:
In a large bowl merge ground beef & pork, milk, egg, bread crumbs, chopped onion, bell pepper, ketchup, parsley, salt, & pepper. Shape into large meatballs, about l 1/2-inch in diameter. Refrigerate meatballs for at least 1 hour. Brown meatballs in a large skillet in hot oil, add beef broth, & cover pan. Cook over low heat for 45 min or until meatballs are cooked. Take Out meatballs to warm dish. For gravy, thicken skillet drippings with a paste of flour and water.
Serve with noodles or mashed potatoes. Serves 6.
